Alex Hobcraft - My Mission

Alex Hobcraft is a small business owner , entrepreneur and business advisor. His work includes helping and advising businesses for 5 years, being an active BIA member and is an actual small business owner. This site blends his love for marketing and businesses with helping, talking and doing something about it with business owners.

I want this podcast to show the grit, innovation and creativity in Hamilton's thriving small business culture.

alexhobcraft.com Grew from learning how to build Footprints Music. Learning about growth, pricing strategies, SEO, website UX and more I was able to grow from 13 students to 280 and 2 locations.

During COVID I worked at Digital Main Street and OBIAA helping small businesses growing their digital marketing skills as owners.

I was able to increase traffic, grow social following, give businesses their brand voice and more to more that a hundread businesses in dozens of indutries.

I started footprintsmusic.ca in 2009 right after economic crash of 2008. I was managing a Music Instrument store in Toronto (Walter's Music) and teaching guitar at the school in the evening. Then cam the hard news: the owner wanted to close it down.

I was panicked! I had a 2-year-old, no job and what seemed like no future.

As I was boxing up the getting ready to move all the instruments out it hit me like a shovel! I could do this. At my journey started that day.
